Dr. Colin Hayward

Dr. Colin Hayward FFPM is currently Chief Medical Officer of Premier Research where he is responsible for leading and developing Premier Research's Global Medical Affairs and Pharmacovigilance Operations; critical components of its global clinical development services offered to the Biopharmaceutical industry. Dr. Hayward is a board certified pharmaceutical physician with 12 years' international experience in Pharmacovigilance, design and implementation of clinical programs and medical affairs having also worked at Roche as International Medical Leader. He graduated in medicine from Guys and St. Thomas’s Hospitals, London in 1994.

Scott Johnstone

CEO, SLA. Scott has been CEO of the Scottish Lifesciences Association since 2011. He started his career with a large pharmaceutical company where he gained technology transfer and R&D experience with a broad range of companies including Fisons (UK), Kevex based in California and Applied Research Laboratories based in Switzerland. From 1998 to April 2004 he was co-founder and MD of YAbA Ltd and secured venture capital to develop and manufacture human and veterinary diagnostic products. Scott was a Technology Entrepreneur to the Scottish Enterprise proof of concept programme and a LSBAS advisor. He was a member of the Scottish Government's Life Sciences Advisory Board where he chaired its Technology Workstream from 2009-2011. Scott is a Director of Benenox Ltd, Pacla Medical Ltd and Marine Biotech Ltd.

Scott is a Chartered Engineer and holds an Honours Degree in Engineering from Edinburgh Napier University and a MBA in Business Administration from Edinburgh University. He is a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. He is a Scientific Member and Vice-Chair of Medical Research Scotland, advisory board member of Quantics Ltd and the SU2P programme linking Scottish and US Universities. Scott also forms the Health Innovation Partnership Industry Liaison Team in partnership with the Scottish Government. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Scottish LifeSciences Association.

Hugh Devine

As Director of Business Development for Promedim, Hugh oversees the company’s sales and growth strategy. He is trained in US & EU IT Regulatory requirements and has led pilot projects for key IT systems within the regulated space. He has significant experience in Product/IT Design Control Validation, Data Centre qualification, Product/IT Quality Strategies, System Implementation and Support for the Life Science and Health IT Industry. Hugh has led high growth startups in both the US and EU and has extensive experience in strategic planning and partnerships to help develop and resource customer solutions. Hugh holds a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Technology and Business from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.

Stephen Ferrell

Stephen Ferrell currently serves as VP Quality Solutions, Health and Life Sciences for Promedim’s Data Centre partner Sidus BioData. Sidus BioData was the first EHNAC certified, dually GxP/HIPAA qualified Data Center network in the US. Stephen is a member of ISPE’s GAMP Steering Committee, co-chairs the GAMP Emerging Standards Special Interest Group and has acted as a Regulatory Advisor to the Scottish Government. Stephen is both a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and is Certified in Risk and Information System Controls (CRISC).
